I find that adding a video does not Export to WordPress nor does it copy to Clipboard but it does Export to HTML and PDF correctly. These are the step I took to add the video steps.

Update in 2.7b26 the copy to clipboard error has been fixed. The video to WordPress has not yet.

Gmail doesn’t support Inline images in emails directly. To add them you need to turn on a Lab Setting called Inserting Images. Even then, you cannot copy and paste multiple images or text and images in a single paste (if you can, please tell me how). Each image needs to be inserted one at a time. If there are a lot of images like in this step-by-step, your need patience and time.

This has been sent by Gmail to Posterous with ((nogallery)) tag in Subject line of the email.

This is quicker because all images can be added, still one at a time but without having to click OK and Insert Image for each image added.

There are two step to resizing a virtual disk in VMWare Fusion:
1. Resize the Virtual Disk using VMWare Fusion
2. Resize the Partition to fit the Unallocated Space in the Virtual Disk. I used the free version of EASEUS Partition Master to do this.
This was done using VMWare Fusion 2 running Windows XP Pro (Classic Appearance).

Part 1.1: Launch VMWare Fusion and Select the Virtual Machine

The Virtual Machine should be Powered Off.

1.2 Click: Virtual Machine > Settings

Following the link in my original tweet, I was able to login to MobileMe and access all areas including Find My iPhone. The advantage of this is if a partner has lost their iPhone whilst out, it is possible to login to their MobileMe account and use the Find My iPhone facility.

I wrote this note on how to create a Template in the Desktop version of Mail on a Mac at the beginning of 2007 but it still seems valid. In fact, it is also relevant to using Mail on the iPhone. Currently, I notice that if I create a draft on the Desktop version of Mail, the Draft is *not* shared via MobileMe to the web nor the iPhone versions of Mail; even though the ‘Store draft messages on the server’ is checked in Mail Preferences. Drafts created in either web Mail or iPhone Mail *are* synced and available to both these versions of Mail. One way to get a Desktop Draft onto the iPhone (or the web) is to move the Draft to a Mailbox folder then copy the text from the synced email in the Mailbox on the iPhone but it shouldn’t be necessary.

Create a draft or template Mail message

• Open Mail, Click New button (File > New Message)

• Create the template contents in a new email message.
• Click Save As Draft button (File > Save as Draft)
• If desired: Move the draft message to a different mailbox folder e.g. a new one named Templates. (see note 2 and 3)

To use the template
• Click on the template message. (see note 1)
• Click Message > Send Again
• Edit as necessary.
• If desired: Click Save As Draft button again. (see note 4)
• Enter or edit the To: address, as needed.
• Click Send button (Message > Send) to send the final message. (see note 3)

Send Again will work for any message you have, including messages that have been sent or received, not just newly created drafts or “templates”. 

Note:
1. If the draft template message is in the Drafts mailbox folder — double-clicking the message will open an editable message i.e. the text and message fields can be edited immediately.

2. If a message has previously been sent, received OR moved from the Drafts folder into another mailbox folder — double-clicking the message will open an uneditable message.
•  To make the message editable: Click Message > Send Again 
•  This menu choice can be used with an opened message or on a highlighted message in a mailbox folder.

3. A message sent from the Drafts mailbox folder is immediately removed from this folder (like sending an original letter — you no longer have it once it’s posted) but there will be the resulting sent message in the Sent folder.
•  If the message is sent with Send Again from any other mailbox folder (i.e. not from the Drafts mailbox folder), the original message is not removed from its folder, and the resulting sent message will be in the Sent folder (like taking a photocopy of the original and posting the photocopy).
•  Clearly, having a Templates mailbox folder separate from the Drafts mailbox folder is an advantage for a message that wants to be used again and again because the template will remain in the Templates mailbox.

4. Caution: When editing a template message that is NOT in the Drafts mailbox, Save as Draft will save the newly edited message into the Drafts mailbox not the original’s mailbox. It will not overwrite the original message. Therefore, if the template message needs re-editing — make the changes, save the changed then move the undated template message from the Drafts mailbox and into the Templates mailbox.
•  Move the saved template from the Drafts mailbox before Sending. Otherwise the updated template in Drafts will disappear. The Sent message will then have to be re-used.
•  If the Subject: title has not been changed; the updated version of the template will have a later Date Received date or time in the mailbox folder list.
•  Delete the older version.

5. Drafts cannot be moved on the iPhone but they can on the web.

PicPosterous v1.1 for the iPhone has added some very useful improvements.
  1. Images can be *Deleted* from any Album managed by PicPosterous.
  2. Images can be added to *Any* of the Albums managed by PicPosterous, not just the most recent.
  3. You can Autopost an Album when it is *complete*, not just when it is created.
  4. You can *choose* which sites to Autopost to rather than Autopost to everything.
  5. You can share a link to a Gallery by email. The email includes a link to the Gallery and the first image.
Whilst 1. and 2. are obvious e.g. add a photo, Select Album, job done or tap Album, move to photo, tap Trash icon; I couldn’t workout how to use the Autoposting (and thus the email option), at first. These are the steps:

Safari in Snow Leopard frequently stalls with the ‘Spinning Pizza’ cursor and ‘hang’ what seems an age before it starts to load a page. This rapidly gets infuriating. One way I have found to improve things is to specify the DNS servers in the System Preferences Network settings.

I have a BT HomeHub wireless router. By Default the System Preferences Network settings look to the router to get the DNS servers. The following step-by-step method gives the servers specified in the router directly to System Preferences Network settings. I don’t know if BT changes these from time to time but if I delete the numbers I added, Network settings defaults back to looking to the router for the DNS server addresses.

Note: To do this I needed to use Firefox. Safari does not work with the Advanced settings of BT HomeHub.

01. In Firefox: Go to the URL bthomehub.home
You may need to load in with admin and the correct password.

02. Click on ‘Advanced’ on the side menu

03. Click ‘Continue to advanced…’

04. Log In with admin and correct password again

05. Click ‘Configuration > Internet’

06. Note the Primary and Secondary DNS
Quit Firefox. (I fuzzed the numbers because I don’t know if they are meant to be secret.)

07. Click ‘Apple > System Preferences… > Network’
Apple = Apple Symbol, top left of screen. Network is in the Internet and Wireless section of System Preferences.

08. Click ‘AirPort’

09. Click ‘Advanced’
Look toward the bottom right of the dialog box.

10. Click ‘DNS’

11. Under DNS Servers: Click ‘+’

12. Type in the Primary DNS noted earlier. Tap ‘Return’ key.
Return key = Enter key

13. Enter the Secondary DNS noted earlier and tap ‘Return’ key.

14. Click ‘OK’

15. Click ‘Apply’

16. Hopefully Safari will feel much more responsive.
If not, go back to Step 07 to get to the DNS numbers. Click on the first number and click ‘–’ and repeat to remove the second one. Then click ‘OK’ and ‘Apply’.

The Step-by-step process to add my Posterous blog to Feedburner when I have more than one Posterous site.

01. On my Posterous Site: Copy the RSS Link in the Sidebar
Right-click on the orange button below ‘Subscribe to this posterous’.

02. Login into Feedburner using my Google Account Details

03. Paste the RSS Link from Step 1 into the ‘Burn a feed…’ box and Click ‘Next’

04. The Feed is automatically given a Title. I changed the Addess to be all lowercase letters. Click Next.
Change the title and address as desired. I left mine with the default text based on my URL.

05. Complete the activation steps for the Feedburner Account.

06. In Posterous: Click the links ‘Manage > Manage this site’ for the Site being added to Feedburner
This may be slightly different if you only have one Posterous site. I currently have three sites.

07. Click the link ‘ Edit my posterous’

08. Type the last part of the ‘Feed Address’ in the Feedburner box

09. Don’t forget to click ‘Save’

It turns out that the problem is caused by a font conflict caused by having Microsoft Office 2004 installed. I needed to launch Font Book and delete the conflicting fonts.
I also was having problems in Safari 3.0.4 on some websites, most obviously on the maczot.com site, as shown below. It made the affected text illegible. The text changed if Safari was switched to run in 32-bit mode. The problem did not affect Firefox.

It turns out that this is also a font problem. At some time I had installed Helvetica Black and Helvetica Compressed.  I turned off the two fonts and the problem was cured. Just to be sure, I chose to delete both fonts as well.

Once removed the macZOT site offer header and price were legible.

I have just solved the problem of not being able to authenticate my Tumblr account for auto-posting from Posterous. My Tumblr password started and finished in angle brackets e.g. <my-password>
When I changed my password to not include the angle brackets, the Posterous Auto-Post setup worked first time and I used my Tumblr custom domain name in the process.

I couldn’t get it to work in Posterous nor on WordPress when published with Blogo in spite of showing correctly in the Blogo Preview. Then I managed to screw up the post with Blogo after I had got it working by manually editing the post in the WordPress Dashboard.

The problem with Appsfire is that it only shows 227 of my apps (228 including Appsfire) on the ‘My Apps’ private webpage and I have a lot more, both on my iPhone and in iTunes.

1. In the Camera Roll: tap the Forwarding button
2. Tap to on the photos to select then tap Copy
3. In Mail: Tap and hold down in the message area of the email. When the Magnifier Lens appears, release and tap Paste.

You can send upto 5 photos using the Share button but for more than 5, use copy and paste. An advantage of copy and paste is that this method will send the original sized image and avoid the photo resizing problem.

Update: Use the tag ((nogallery)) in the Subject line of the email so that the emoji are not placed into an Album Gallery.
